UNDERSTANDING THE MAIN PRINCIPLES BEHIND YOUR CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Chiropractic care is based off our four main principles:
-
The living body has the ability to heal itself. An example of this is when you cut your finger and the body is able to restore itself.
-
The nervous system is the master circuit board of the body. It controls every action, thought, perception, etc. so it has a huge affect on how you view and perceive the world around you.
-
When there is interference with the nervous system, the body's ability to restore health diminishes. Interference with the nervous system not only affects your physical health, but it also affects the way you perceive and respond to the world around you.
-
The role of the chiropractor is to locate and correct these nervous system interferences so that the body is able to fully maintain its optimal health.
There are three general phases of chiropractic care: relief care, restorative/corrective care, and wellness care.
Relief Care: The first of the three phases of chiropractic care is known as relief care. This is when you initially come into our office, where the main objective is to provide relief to your pain symptoms.
Restorative/Corrective Care: The second of the three phases of chiropractic care is known as restorative or corrective care. This is the phase of recovery in which muscles and other associated tissues are allowed more adequate time to heal completely, therefore helping to prevent injury.
Wellness Care: The final third of the three phases of chiropractic care is known as wellness care. In this phase of chiropractic care, the main objective is to maintain optimal health in order to help prevent injuries in the future. Once the body has fully healed, it's important to come into the the office for continued care in order to maintain optimal body functioning and help prevent future injuries. In order to optimize your health, patient's in the phase of chiropractic care generally come into the office for care around 1-4 times per month, depending on your lifestyle and goals.
